Uncle Natcho Welcoming Kate.
This picture was taken of Uncle Natcho in front of Lamplugh Glacier, West Arm of Glacier Bay, Alaska, 12 hours after Kate was born, but 24 hours before he found out. Uncle Natcho was out in the Alaskan Wilderness guiding a trip for the entire month of July. His only means of communication was a satellite phone that he could use to check in every now and then with the International Wilderness Leadership School's headquarters. After Kate was born, I called the IWLS office and left a message for Natcho's next check-in.
